Tell Your Rep: The SHARE Act Makes Us All Less Safe

Tomorrow the House Natural Resource Committee will be debating a bill called the “Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act" or "SHARE Act."

Among the worst provisions is one that would change existing rules to make gun silencers widely available -- without a background check for every sale or transfer -- making it easier for dangerous and prohibited people including felons, fugitives, domestic abusers, hate perpetrators and domestic terrorists to acquire them. This would reverse more than 80 years of careful regulation of silencers, all in the service of boosting gun industry profits. Law enforcement overwhelming opposes this drastic change because they know that the current rules work -- silencers are hardly ever used in crime today. Make no mistake, this will put law enforcement lives and the public in danger.

Call your representative now and tell them to oppose the SHARE act! Here's how:

  1. Fill out the form on this page.
  2. Answer the call that you receive. It will connect you to your representative.
  3. Tell them making silencers widely available endangers us all.
