Jitka was murdered on April 13, 2011. She was killed by a stalker – a Canadian man who was able to cross into the United States and buy a 40 caliber handgun on a Washington-based gun auction site. The gun was easy to get since no background checks are required for this type of private sale. This is wrong. A national law requiring a Brady check on every gun sale is the only way to keep guns out of criminal hands. We must stop the shadow sales of deadly weapons online and at gun shows and flea markets. Jitka is the greatest person I haver ever met. I cry every day knowing that tomorrow someone else will lose their greatest person to gun violence. Together, we can be the light of change and save a life.

Missing you has surely taken abstract out of “forever”, girly. How keenly I feel forever, missing you. Forever loving you. Forever longing to hear your voice, see your smile, lordy, to even hear about that damn litterbox! Forever cursing the twists of fate that led to this incomprehensible end. Taking comfort in knowing that your spirit lives on forever in all whom you loved- rippling through time, forever adding a spark of goodness to this old world. Forever blessed to have shared your journey, mon ami. You will be forever in my heart.
I love and miss you every day! I miss our conversations and your humor and compassion. I miss our silly good times. I miss your laughter and smile. You ARE a beautiful soul and your LIFE has inspired me to be a better person EVERY DAY. Thank you for sharing over half a lifetime of friendship with me. It was a privelage and honor to have called you friend. The legacy of love and happiness you left will last me the rest of my life.
I will forever love you my quirky friend thanks for always keeping me laughing. I promise to always remember you with the joy you gave in life, not with the horror of your death.
