Dear Brady Campaign Representative(s) and The Honorable Beau Bridges,
The following post is our unfortunate experiences of living in Louisiana. Thank you for reading, all of the following is factual!
I quit my other job to give care for my late father and now my mother.

I would like to share with you and your staff our recent problems with gun violence from yesterday in Pro-gun town and state, Arcadia, Louisiana: Please use my e-mail letter(s) if you think it will help your cause to stop gun violence. I will share your video with everyone I can find to put an end to any and all gun violence!

When my parents and I moved to Arcadia, Louisiana in 1983, about a month after we moved here, a white male in a blue Ford shortbed pickup stopped in the middle of our road, he put a long “banana clip” into an assault rifle, the then pointed the weapon towards my parents, myself, and seven members of our family that were here visiting from Baton Rouge, La. After about a minute, He removed the long clip, floored his pickup truck spinning it’s tires, I tried to obtain his tag #, La. however, it was too bent up to view the letters on his license plate, we didn’t even have a phone yet to call police!

About a year after living here, a high-powered rifle was fired towards our home in front of our porch and over my mothers head, the bullet passed across our front yard over our vehicles, then struck a large tree on our property. This bullet came approximately 9 feet from striking and possibly killing my mother.

Another incident about 12 years ago, a red Toyota 4wdrive pickup with two white males followed behind my father, they parked at the stop sign about 300′ from my father’ pickup, while my father drove up to our gate, he stepped out of his pickup truck, one of the males fired a shotgun directly behind my fathers pickup down our road, my father froze, thought he was going to have a heart attack, I yelled at my mom to call the police, I told my father to stay in his truck, then I took off after the red Toyota pickup in my car, they had the advantage because they took off speeding away like the cowards they are.

Twice I have been shot at with a shotgun, another time a lever action rifle possible 30-30 caliber, another time was a .22 caliber rifle fired three times over my head at close range, I could hear the person cocking the lever action rifle when he fired another round over my head, that is how close they were I was walking from our mailbox to check our mail. When we used to call the police, the hoodlums would retaliate against us by driving by our home between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m. shooting their guns as fast as they could pull the trigger. My dad served in WWII and Normandy, he told us, “I have never seen people as mean as these here, it’s wasn’t this bad fighting in the war.”

For the past 28 years we have been shot at, threatened, and obscentities directed towards us because we want to be left alone. There are numerous hate groups here in Louisiana, worse in Mississippi, no justice here at all. The negligent hunting club next door shot pistols, rifles, shotguns, and assault weapons from 150 shots to 500 shots fired all day long, police ignored us all of these years, FBI was the only ones that attempted to help us. ATF told me to, “find the bullets and we will follow-up from there”. Our motorhome was shot just six months after we moved here, bullet entered the side of the wall then exited the roof in the bathroom of our motorhome, had anyone been in there, they would not have survived.

I started to open a small business here in our pasture, the flea market next door started shooting everytime I was attempting to work on my projects to sell to the public, between 50 and 100 shots fired, recently they shoot their guns in our direction, I kept getting headaches, nightmares, and overall distressed everytime I hear a gun fired from the flea market. They fired a shotgun in my direction while I opened the door on my vehicle, police didn’t even bother to question them about what happened, he just drove back to town like nothing happened! Recently, I disassembled my building and sold it for scrap, didn’t get nothing for it, now I have no income nor future because of gun violence. They shot at my Brother-In-Law and my sister three times when they moved here, they moved from here after a year because of the gun violence from the flea market next door! My Bother-In-Law invested over $30,000.00 in a new mobile home, well, septic, electrical hookups, and his time, then left here fearing they would be shot when they walked outside their door.

Their retirement is now put on hold because Arcadia, Louisiana and other areas are too dangerous to live in, much less retire in. My mother fears walking outside because two weeks ago while we were sitting outside in our yard with our little dogs, someone from the back porch of the double-wide trailer that resides at the flea market fired two loud pistol shots towards our home where we were sitting in our yard. We immediately went inside, No quality of life here at all! The most recent incidents are as of yesterday below. We don’t know how much more we can take from these hoodlums at the flea market next door, the hunters yesterday are believed to belong to the flea market next door, we are not sure, however, we heard their four-wheelers after they shot so close, we never know when we will be shot! Take care and thank you for listening. I would send some money, just don’t have it at this time. Keep up the excellent progress that you are making. Also, I would like to suggest that you post your video on ABC News 20/20 to get more people involved, excellent video by the way! We hate guns and we do not support the Second Amendment at all!

    Sincerely,
    Rex Stuart and Family

Below is what has been occurring for the past 28 years directed towards us, gun fanatics and hunters are the same here!

December 28, 2011 How does a non-hunting human beings cope with being forced to hear high-powered rifles being discharged from so-called, “sports-men”, the bullets richocheting off of other neighbors trees? Forget about calling the police, their response being, “They are hunters hunting.” Yeah, right when one of those bullets that are fired acorss our state highway and strike an innocent person, yeah, hunters of wildlife hunting just a few feet from the road where a high-powered rifle bullet can travel a mile + ! The deer rifles being fired are extremely loud, causing negative reflexes to my body and start shaking fearing the next bullet may be fired in my direction because they are shooting close to us! Complaining doesn’t do any good, politicians ignore us, police here destroy hand written reports, and petitions do not help stop their actions. There is a law in Louisiana called, “The hunter harassment law.” this law protects hunters of wildlife, yet the true human beings that want to live in peace and not be threatened by gunfire are denied any rights whatsoever. Thank you for having your site and allowing me to post. ~ Lawless Louisiana!
