Tribute to Thomas Lee

tommie081Thomas Reese Lee-December 20, 2011 marked the 24th anniversary of his birth. I hosted “Remembering Tommy.” That’s all I have left-memories. Tommy was shot August 13, 2008 while he and acquaintances were in the parking lot of the Huddle store in Harvey, Illinois. It has been reported as a botched robbery. Tommy died August 14, 2008 from a single gunshot wound in his abdomen. While Tommy was awaiting acceptance into Local 150, Operating Engineer Apprenticeship; he attended McCoy Barber College, Chicago. Many parents, church members, educators and friends still speak of Tommy’s philanthropic deeds. He loved the art of cutting hair and would often give free hair cuts. He shared and helped his friends and neighbors. Tommy would also defend the underdog. This, quite possibly, cost him his life. For Tommy was the only one fighting to defend, protect himself and the others. I believe the boy that shot my son continues to walk among us. He has probably done it before and will do it again. No one stepped up to help Tommy that night and no one has stepped up to help convict the shooter. Yet, they refer to themselves as friends, men and women?
In the words of Martin Luther King, Jr. “There comes a time when silence is betrayal.”

R.I.P Tommy!!! He defended himself to begin with. The underdog didnt cause him to lose his life. If anything he defended a female because he knew that was the right thing to do because he brought her out with him to hang out and all of them ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. This was never meant to happen. TOMMY KNOWS THE TRUTH AND IS SMILING DOWN ON THOSE THAT WERE THERE WITH HIM THAT NIGHT. TOMMY WOULDNT ALSO WANT THEM TO JEOPARDIZE THERE LIFE. TALKING TO THE POLICE BEHIND CLOSE DOORS WITHOUT ATTENTION IS ALWAYS BEST FOR A FEMALE!
