What does it say?

For ten years, from 1994-2004, federal law banned military-style assault weapons.  Since 2004, at least 163 people have been killed and 185 wounded, including at least 38 police officers killed or wounded.

This report summarizes the evidence that the federal assault weapons ban increased public safety and makes the case for enacting a stronger, more comprehensive law.
