Title: Exporting Gun Violence: How Our Weak Gun Laws Arm Criminals in Mexico and America

Publication Date: March 2009

What does it say?

Mexico has strong gun laws, requiring registration and restrictions on lethality.  The United States has weak federal laws and weak state laws in Texas and Arizona.  As a result, high firepower weapons from the United States are supplying Mexican drug cartels and causing carnage.  This report provides examples of Mexican crimes committed with guns purchased in the United States because our weak gun laws make it easy to traffic guns.

How can I use it?

This reports makes the case that we urgently need reform of the U.S. gun industry and gun laws in order to make it harder for dangerous people to get their hands on highly lethal weapons.
