Title: National Attitudes Concerning Gun Carrying in the United States

Publication Date: December 2001

What does it say?

This study uses data from two national surveys to look at public attitudes towards gun carrying in the United States.

By margins of at least nine to one, Americans do not believe that “regular” citizens should be allowed to bring their guns into restaurants, college campuses, sports stadiums, bars, hospitals, or government buildings.

How can I use it? Use this study to challenge laws making it easier to carry guns in public places.
