Committee Holds Hearing on Microstamping

In an important step towards eventual passage, the State Judiciary Committee held a hearing in Hartford on a bill to require that all new semi-automatic handguns sold in Connecticut feature microstamping technology. The bill — similar to legislation that passed in California last year — is unlikely to pass during this year's shortened legislative session, but the hearing was an important element in a campaign to educate legislators and the public at large about the effectiveness of microstamping.
