Assembly Committee Ensures State's Gun Laws Remain Strong
Jan 15, 2008
The California Assembly Public Safety Committee voted today to defeat a bad bill that would have allowed thousands of handgun buyers to bypass the state's requirement to pass a handgun safety test. Currently in California, all handgun purchasers are required to pass a handgun safety test before they purchase their weapon, but, the NRA gun lobby pushed this legislation (AB 1357) that would have severely weakened this law. The Committee ensured that all purchasers of handguns know how to handle their weapons in a safe manner.
