BRADY CAMPAIGN STATEMENT ON JEFF SESSIONS' CONFIRMATION AS ATTORNEY GENERAL
WASHINGTON - Brady Campaign president Dan Gross issued the following statement after the Senate confirmed Jeff Sessions as the next U.S. attorney general.
"Jeff Sessions' confirmation is a dangerous gamble that shows no signs of paying off for anyone other than the corporate gun lobby. As attorney general, Sessions will have the ability and responsibility to direct the ATF to investigate and take action against 'bad apple' gun dealers who flood our communities with crime guns. But to date, he's given us no reason to expect he'll lift a finger to do anything about it. His career as a gun lobby lap dog has been marked by vote after vote to make it easier for dangerous people to get guns. A lap dog leading the justice department is a recipe to make America less safe, not more. Responsibility for any failure to take the necessary steps to reduce gun violence will be Sessions' alone."
