Brady Center Kicks-Off Spanish-Language Public Awareness Campaign in Dallas
The Brady Center's Hispanic/Latino Outreach Initiative kicked off a Spanish-language media campaign on May 7, 2007 in the Dallas/Fort Worth market. The campaign consists of radio ads, newspaper ads, and materials distribution, with the theme: "A gun in your home is a risk to your family and community." The radio ads are on KESS-FM and KLNO-FM and the print ads are in El Hispano News. The ads listed a toll-free number for listeners/readers to call to access more information about gun violence prevention and receive free materials.
Listeners/readers are also able to be referred to local community based organizations, health groups and agencies, and faith groups, with Spanish-speaking staff, due to the efforts of the Dallas Chapter, who identified these resources and networked with the City Council to make this happen. The media campaign will run through the week of May 27, 2007.
