Hi, my name is Paul Helmke, President of the Brady Campaign and Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

We do have momentum on our side. Together we did a great job last year stopping harmful bills being pushed by the gun lobby. Then you helped us to elect over 96% of the candidates we endorsed in 2006.

Now we have the opportunity to lay the groundwork in Congress and in state legislatures to move our initiatives forward for a safer America.

Our chief lobbyist and I have been meeting with Members of the House and Senate and their staff. Just over the last couple weeks, we attended over a half-dozen receptions at the start of the 110th Congress.
