Statement from Dan Gross, President of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, on the merger of Moms Demand Action and Mayors Against Illegal Guns

"The merger of Moms Demand Action with Mayors Against Illegal Guns is a very positive step toward our common goal of reducing gun violence.  Over the past year, Moms Demand Action has emerged as an important new voice on our issue.  Our more than one million Brady and Million Mom March members and advocates, and our chapters across the country, have enjoyed working closely with Moms Demand Action members and chapters over the past year. This merger is another, powerful sign of our momentum as a movement which, to succeed, is going to require voices from all walks of life and all corners of society coming together in the name of making this the better, safer nation we all want."
