For Immediate Release - November 1, 2013 - Contact: media [at] bradynetwork [dot] org

Washington, DC –Today shots were fired at LAX airport.  While we do not know the full details of the incident, media reports indicate several TSA agents were shot.

The following statement was released today by Dan Gross, President of the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence:

“Our hearts are with the victims, their families, and all those in attendance at LAX airport today. The agents of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) are our first line of defense for security at airports, and we are grateful for the service they provide each day.

Tragically, 90 Americans are killed with bullets every day. And while we don't know all of the specific circumstances of this tragedy yet, we do know that solutions exist that can prevent incidents of gun violence. The Brady Center vows to continue to fight for those solutions until this is becomes the safer nation we all deserve.”

The mission of the Brady organization is to create a safer America for all of us that will lead to the dramatic reduction in gun deaths and injuries that we all seek.
