This morning, Judge Jeffrey Conen of the Milwaukee County Circuit Court announced that a jury will hear the case of two Milwaukee police officers against the gun dealer that supplied the handgun used to shoot and critically injure them.

“Today, we have seen yet another tragic example of gun violence in our country. Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims, families and all those impacted by the terrible tragedy at Columbia mall today. While we do not know all the details yet, we do know that 90 Americans are killed with guns every day, most in tragedies that do not make national headlines.
“Two terrible tragedies happened this week which on the surface may seem to have little in common, but they both point to a big and too-often-untold part of the story of gun violence in America -- kids’ access to guns in the home."
